Paradise Community Services -has joined with other volunteers and local churches and service organizations to respond to the needs of our friends and neighbors who have suffered from the devastating wildfires. We are coordinating a program of long-term recovery assistance beginning with an assessment of local needs and provided shelter to those who lost their homes. Please contact us to volunteer your services or if you have questions about available resources. The journey to recovery is a long process that begins here. Disaster Recovery Center is located at 28904 Valley Center Rd., Valley Center, CA 92082. |
The Disaster Recovery Center is open by appointment only during the day, evenings, or on weekends. Please call 760-877-6979 for assistance or to schedule an appointment. |

Paradise Community Services assists families and individuals who have suffered the devasting effects of a disaster by guiding them to resources and helping them to develop Long Term Recovery plans. Recovering from a disaster begins with meeting intitial needs, but the long term recovery process goes through many stages and usually takes two to three years for most people. Those who lost homes are often unable to return to their neighborhoods, and are faced with the challenge of having to establish new lives in new communities while continuing to deal with the day to day issues that affect all of us. Our Long Term Recovery Program is a joint effort with many other charitable organizations and individual volunteers in San Diego County, and includes assistance locating, securing and maintaining affordable housing, settling the children into their new neighborhoods, finding job training resources and employment opportunities, and dealing with recovery-related health and life issues. Since October, 2003, we have provided disaster recovery assistance for over 1,000 men, women, and children, as they re-settle into the community while preserving their pre-disaster memories. |
